Northern Trust has signed a memorandum of understanding ( MoU ) with Universiti Brunei Darussalam ( UBD ) to develop digital and fintech talent and strengthen academic-industry collaboration.
The MoU establishes a framework for Northern Trust and UBD to collaborate on research and development initiatives in areas such as digital assets, the application of artificial intelligence, and emerging trends in the financial market. These efforts aim to equip Bruneian students with practical knowledge and global best practices in digital and fintech innovation.

Speaking as guest of honour at the MOU signing ceremony, Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Rashidah binti Haji Sabtu, managing director of Brunei Darussalam Central Bank, says: “Brunei’s long-term competitiveness depends on our ability to embrace advanced technologies.
